William James "Billy" Evans, Jr., 75, of Old Hickory, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at home on July 23, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born on June 16, 1950, in Nashville, Tennessee, Billy was the son of the late William James Evans, Sr. (W.J.) and Dimple Jane Evans. He graduated from Isaac Litton High School in 1968 and spent much of his career working in banking and as a trusted bank courier.

Billy is survived by his devoted wife and best friend, Janet "Pinky" Evans; his daughter, Shannon Evans Williford (Lacy) of Old Hickory, TN; granddaughter Saidee Williams (Jake), and great-grandchildren Sawyer and Vedder Williams. He also leaves behind his sister Kathy Williams; his sister- and brother-in-law, Janice "Whitey" and Robert "PeeWee" Smith; nephew Michael Smith (Crystal); niece, Rachel Trotter, great-nephews Harley Tyler-Neal (Kayle Coakley), Eli Tyler-Neal (Joy Gadalla), Zander Smith, and Paul Trotter; great-niece Vivian Smith and Patty Trotter; and great-great-nephew Kolton;  his loyal dog Marco and granddog Harley, who both brought him endless joy and companionship.  He was preceded in death by his sister Shirley Billingsley.

Billy had a big heart and an even bigger smile. He loved fiercely and unconditionally, especially when it came to his family. Once you met Billy, you were considered family too. He had a way of making everyone feel welcome and seen. His pride and joy were without a doubt his beloved wife, Pinky, and his daughter, Shannon.

He was happiest outdoors, often found on the water with a fishing pole in hand. He spent countless days fishing alongside one of his best friends, David Welch. When he wasn't fishing, you might find him at a local watering hole listening to music and swapping stories with his other best friend, Mike Saporito. A lifelong lover of music, Billy especially enjoyed MoTown and never passed up a good song.

Billy was a true dog lover — the kind that brought home strays without a second thought. His kindness extended to animals just as it did to people.

A man of faith, Billy attended The Bridge Fellowship and continued to watch services online when he was no longer able to attend in person.

His legacy is one of love, laughter, and genuine connection. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered by those fortunate enough to know him.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, July 31, 2025 at The Bridge Fellowship, 5066 Lebanon Rd, Lebanon, TN 37087. Visitation will be from 4:00–6:00 PM, with a memorial service immediately following at 6:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Proverbs 12:10 Animal Rescue, an organization close to Billy's heart and in honor of his buddy, Marco, and his love for animals.
