Passed November 4, 2026 at Alive Hospice in Nashville, TN
Virginia “Ginger” Poag, was the most amazing mother and grandmother, both being, in her words, her greatest accomplishments. She is survived by her sons, Joseph Mark Poag, Jr and James Matthew Poag (Annie), and her daughter, Kelly Poag Stanley (Gregg). She put her children and their happiness above all else. She is survived by her prized grandchildren, Sallie Stanley, Graham Stanley, Tatum Stanley, Ethan Poag, Mia Poag, Eloise Poag, Weatherford Poag, and Hadley Poag. She is also survived by her loving partner, Ken Beal, and his grandchildren David and Talley Bohanan. She also leaves behind her beloved rescue dog, Beau. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Floydaline Farrior, her father, F.B. Farrior, Jr., and her sister, Sandra Farrior.
Ginger was a native Nashvillian, graduating from John Overton High School in 1973. Ginger worked in accounting most of her life. She worked for DVL, Partners (Now Finn) for 30 years. She retired in 2022. She also served with Isaiah 58 youth ministry in Nashville. She loved being outdoors and exercising. She was an avid hiker, completing a 17 mile mountain run in 2002 and also completed the Tom King and Music City half marathons 2001, and 2006 respectively. She hiked Radnor regularly, which was her favorite spot, as well as the red and blue trails at Percy Warner.
She taught her family about the love, mercy and grace of Jesus. She lived out those traits through her life. Although spicy by nature, she was humble and gracious, and also merciful when her family needed it most.
Her family will miss her dearly, especially this holiday season. We know she is resting comfortably in heaven. There will be a private ceremony held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, please consider giving in her honor to https://www.deafpathway.com or https://www.bestbuddies.org/tennessee/
