Vicky's Story

Vicky was born June 19, 1951 in Chicago, IL to John and Helen Poland. She was the oldest of 10 children. Her brothers and sisters include John, Chuck, George, Mickey, Marie (Klinesmith), Fran (Petersen), Joe, JoAnn, and Ag (Abbott). She grew up in Chicago in the West Town area and attended Wells High School.

In September of 1969 her family moved to Lindenhurst. In summer of 1973 Vicky met Randy Moore and on April 20, 1974 they were married. They had 4 children, Beth (1975), Rich (1977), Robert (1978), and Mary (1980). In 1991, Tabitha Cedzidlo joined their family. Vicky worked as a preschool teacher and early education teacher for over 30 years. Children were a huge part of her life and she loved each and every child who crossed her path, from her Headstart kids to her LaPetite kids and most of all, her grandchildren. She has 13 grandchildren. Dyrell Clark, Justice Clark, Devyn Cedzidlo, Symayah Cedzidlo, Ivy Moore, Gwen Moore, Curtis McBride, Jarell McBride, Lily Moore, Andre McBride, LaWonne Johnson, RaeAnn Moore and Santana Johnson. She is also the GREAT grandmother of 4. Devyn Cedzidlo, Ailani McBride, Daelyn Cedzidlo and Zayden Clark. She went from one big family to another one.

Vicky was always involved in her kids life, from Camp Fire girls with her girls, to football, basketball and baseball with her boys. She was always present. She played a huge part in her grandchildren's life. Football games, band and choir concerts, always cheering and supporting in any way she could. She especially enjoyed spending time with them at Great America where she rode roller coasters, well into her 60's and loved to get a funnel cake. Vicky enjoyed going to car shows, and riding in the 51 Chevy with her husband. Vicky and Randy loved to ride his Harley together and take long rides. They especially enjoyed Friday Night Fish Fry's and were always trying out new places. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 17th from 4-8 at The Civic Center, 2007 N Civic Center Way, Round Lake Beach, IL, 60073
