Randy E. Phillips, a beloved husband, brother, and friend, left this world on March 1, 2026, at the age of 68. Born on July 17, 1957, in the vibrant city of Nashville, Tennessee, Randy was the cherished son of Edna Warf Phillips and Roy Phillips. Reunited now in peace with his parents and his dear sisters, Barbara Phillips Long and Ruby Phillips, Randy leaves behind a legacy of laughter, love, and dedication.
Randy was a man who built not only structures through his work in construction and painting but also a life filled with enduring relationships and joyous memories. His quick wit and warm smile were his trademarks, and he took great delight in bringing laughter to those around him, brightening countless days with his humor. Randy's life philosophy was simple — a joke to lighten the mood and a smile to lift a spirit.
He shared his life's journey with his beloved wife, Barbara Turner Phillips, who stood by his side through life's many adventures. Randy is also survived by his siblings, Elizabeth Walls, Wanda Bilbrey, Ronnie Phillips, close family friends Donald Mercer and Classie Smith, and several nieces and nephews who remember him fondly for his unwavering support and love.
Randy was a member of Whitley Memorial Baptist Church, where his faith was a cornerstone of his life. There, he found a community of kindred spirits who shared in his joys and sorrows.
In moments of leisure, Randy could often be found enjoying the great outdoors. Camping and fishing were among his favorite pastimes, where he felt most connected to the beauty of the world around him. He also harbored a fondness for collecting eagles, a symbol of freedom and strength that resonated deeply with his spirit.
The family invites all who knew and loved Randy to join in a celebration of his life on March 14, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Whitley Memorial Baptist Church, located at 84 Peachtree Street, Nashville, TN 37210. Visitation with family and friends will be at 10:00 a.m. followed by the service at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Local Chapter of Dementia in Nashville, Tennessee, an organization close to their hearts.
The Phillips family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Trevecca Center for Rehabilitation and Healing for their compassionate care and support. As they navigate this time of loss, they find solace in the many joyful memories and the lessons of love that Randy left behind. He will remain "Forever in our Hearts."
