Obituary

Penelope Mae Hartley, or "Poppie," of Franklin, TN went home to be with Jesus on October 15, 2024. She was 16 years old.

Poppie was born on November 15, 2007 in Nashville, TN to Steve and Katrina Hartley. She was sassy, compassionate, and creative. Poppie was an individual who was not afraid to speak her mind. She was fiercely loyal and would always stick up for the underdog.

Poppie was a junior at Centennial High School where she loved her cosmetology and English classes. She had a large, diverse group of friends and looked forward to studying cosmetology. She loved her job and was a hard worker at Quinn's Pub where she was the "hostess with the mostess" and enjoyed working alongside her sisters and friends.

She enjoyed her trip to England last summer where she reconnected with the English side of her family. She especially enjoyed time on the Cornwall beaches, eating chips and curry sauce, and shopping in London. She was excited to visit again.

When Poppie was completing her driver's license form last fall, she told her dad that knowing her sister may need an organ transplant, she wanted to be an organ donor. Her wish was honored, saving four lives so far.

In addition to her loving parents, Poppie will be dearly missed by her brother Alec, and her sisters, Harriett and Lillie. Poppie is also survived by a large extended family and many friends.

A celebration of Poppie's life will be held at Belmont Church in Nashville on Saturday, October 19 at 2:00 in the Worship Center. Family will greet visitors at 1:30 and refreshments will be served after the service.
