Neil Kocina passed away on December 7, 2025.  Neil was born in Creighton, Nebraska on December 29, 1930 to the late James and Rena Kocina.  He had a sister, Flora Jean Mattern, deceased at the age of 96, also of Creighton, Nebraska.

Neil graduated from Longmont High School, Longmont, Colorado in 1948 and later attended Colorado State University and the University of Texas, El Paso.  Neil was a Veteran of the United States Army serving in Alaska during the Korean Conflict.  Upon leaving the Army, he was employed by the Ingersoll Rand Company for 40 years, retiring as Manager of Administration in 1993.  Neil was married to the late Susie Chavez Kocina for over 60 years.

Survivors include their 6 children/spouses:  Susan & Dana Smith of Conway SC, Cynthia & James Hamby of Spokane WA, Kent Kocina of Franklin TN, Ronald & Mary Kocina of Brentwood TN, Alan & India Kocina of Sautee Nacooche GA and Sandra & Bernard Schreiber of Jensen Beach FL.  Also surviving are 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

A funeral Mass will be held at All Saints Catholic Church in Dunwoody GA on 12 January, 2026 at 11 AM.

Memorial contributions may be made to one of Neil's favorite charities, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at stjude.org
