Monique Wiss Timms, age 89, of Brentwood, TN passed away peacefully on August 24, 2026 at Alive Hospice, Nashville.
Mrs. Timms was born in Strasbourg, France on February 27, 1937, daughter of the late Charles Wiss and the late Marguerite Richert Wiss. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Sgm. Bobby Timms; her brother, Lucien Wiss, and her grandson, Corey Cavanaugh.
A resident of Clarksville, TN for almost 50 years, Mrs. Timms grew up in occupied France during WWII and later moved to the United States after her marriage. She was fluent in English, French, German and the Alsatian dialect of her birth. She served as President of the Clarksville chapter of the Alliance Francaise for many years. Her passions were gardening, cooking and traveling to Europe.
Survivors include two daughters, Deb Cavanaugh (Bob Mayer) and Brenda Edmondson (Danny); her grandsons, Craig Cavanaugh, Wil Edmondson (Alyssa), and Kyle Edmondson; her great-grandsons, Riley Cavanaugh and Haydn Cavanaugh; a brother, Bernard Wiss (Nicole); two sisters, Lisbeth Kapp and Gabrielle Tansuwat; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her ashes will be laid to rest alongside her husband’s at Kentucky Veterans Cemetary West in a private service with immediate family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alive Hospice Nashville and the American Red Cross.
