Donelson Fellowship
Starts at 10:00 am (Central time)
Mitchel Morgan Beverly, 74, peacefully departed this life on the morning of Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at his home in Hermitage after a more than seven-year bout with corticobasal syndrome and prostate cancer. A service celebrating his life will occur on November 20 at 10:00 a.m. at the Donelson Fellowship in Donelson, followed by interment with full military honors at the Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, 7931 McCrory Lane, Nashville.
Born in Miami, Florida, on August 23, 1952, Mitch graduated from Miami Palmetto Senior High and later from the University of West Florida in Pensacola with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He retired from the U.S. Air Force Reserve with the rank of major. He also retired from Cigna Healthcare after a nearly fifty-year career in business, most of it in the healthcare services industry.
He married the love of his life, the former Rebecca Rigby, in Pensacola, Florida, on February 14, 1982. They had one son together, Christopher. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred Morgan and Harriet Jean Beverly, and is survived by his wife, Rebecca Beverly; son, Christopher Beverly; brother, Stephen Beverly; and sister, Megan Dowdy (Mike), as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was a faithful Christian and member of the Donelson Fellowship, where he served as a deacon, having been ordained in the early 1980s. His faith in Christ was not simply something he professed; he lived it out in his daily life. He was known for his deep love for his family, his compassion for and service to others, his wise and caring Christian counsel to family members and friends, as well as his charming wit and sense of humor. A licensed private pilot and avid Green Bay Packers and Atlanta Braves fan, he enjoyed traveling, coaching Little League baseball, barefoot water skiing, bowling, and fishing.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Welch College, 1045 Bison Trail, Gallatin, TN 37066, and Alive Hospice, 1710 Patterson Street, Nashville, TN 37203.
Out of consideration for family members with fragrance allergies, the family kindly requests that guests refrain from wearing perfumes or colognes to the service.
