It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Michael David Wood, who left us on November 23, 2024, at the age of 72. Michael was born on July 19, 1952, in Cincinnati, OH. Moved to Lafayette TN in 1995

A man of quiet strength and deep kindness & funny jokes , Mikes's life was defined by his love for his family, great sense of humor, and his generous spirit. He was known for his sharp mind, dry wit, and the ability to make anyone around him feel welcome . Whether he was lending a hand to a friend, sharing a laugh with family, or quietly supporting those in need, Mikes's presence was a constant source of comfort to those who knew him.

He was a loving husband to [Betty Wood], a proud father to Krystal Elmore & Husband Lee, Michael McQuery & wife Telena, Jack McQuery wife Jaime, Brenda Robertson & husband Mike, Mikey Wood & Wife Jenny, Melinda Vaughn  and a devoted grandfather to several Grandchildren and Great grandchildren . His love for his family was immeasurable, and his influence will continue to guide them through their lives.

Michael's legacy is one of compassion, and an enduring sense of humor. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Highland General Baptist Church on December 6th, visitation 2-7 services at 5pm
