Lynda Joyce Cathey was born June 3, 1952, to
the late James H. and Magnolia R. Cathey, in
Columbia, TN. The eldest of four siblings,
Lynda was known for her intelligence, love
of learning, and deep passion for
Shakespeare. She graduated with honors
from Tennessee State University. She was a
faithful member of Christ the King Catholic
Church, Nashville, TN.
Lynda peacefully passed away Friday,
November 15, 2024 after an extended illness,
surrounded by her loving family. She was a
woman full of joy and laughter and left a
lasting impact on all who had the privilege
of knowing her. Her absence leaves a
profound emptiness in our hearts.
Lynda's memory will live on in the hearts of
her children, Natalie Sexton, Lavergne, TN
and Nicklaus Davis, Ashland City, TN.,
sisters, Vivian Cathey, Judi Cathey Stewart
(Michael), brother, James Ray Cathey,
nephew, Matthew B. Stewart, all of
Columbia, TN, nephew, Taurus "T" Davidson
of Texas and devoted and loving aunt,
Margaret R. Russell, Key West, FL; longtime
friend, Rose Ragland-Davis and a host of
family and friends, who will forever hold
her in their hearts.
We would like to extend a special thanks to
all Care Team members at Lakeshore
Meadows, Catherine Hayden, the doctors
and nurses at Ascension St. Thomas West
