Laura Louise Luton passed away peacefully on August 13, 2026, at the Alive Hospice facility in Nashville after an extended illness.
Laura was a Nashville native, born on November 6, 1953. Along with her twin brother Steve, Laura was adopted by Herbert (Bub) and Dorothy (Dot) Luton at the age of three. She attended Union Hill Elementary and Goodlettsville Junior and Senior High Schools, graduating in 1972. She later attended Martin College in Pulaski, TN (now known as UT Southern).
Laura worked in several capacities as a teen and young adult but ultimately settled into a career in childcare. She worked in several facilities over the years, with her longest tenure being with La Petite Academy in Goodlettsville. She continued that calling in her retirement years, living with and caring for her mother in Greenbrier, TN until Dot’s death in the Fall of 2022. In the years since, Laura shared a home in Greenbrier with her daughter, Alesha (Hannah) and son Aaron.
Laura was a friend to all. She was generous with her love and her time. She leaves numerous people who she loved, and who loved her.
Laura was preceded in death by her grandparents, Herbert & Bertha Luton and Tyler and Madge Green: her parents, Bub and Dot, and her brother, Steve. She is survived by her children Alesha Luton (Hannah) and Aaron Luton, her brother Tom Luton (Dana), her niece, Madison Luton, and nephew, Cooper Luton (Kara).
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at Connell Memorial United Methodist Church, 113 Church Street, Goodlettsville. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., with the service immediately following. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Laura’s name to Connell Memorial UMC.
