Jesse Ray Spell, 58, of Nashville, TN, passed away on November 17, 2024, and went home to
be with Jesus.
Jesse was born in Bel-Ridge, MO, and spent his early years on his family's horse farm, Ace
Stables, until the age of 12. The early loss of his father profoundly shaped the course of his life,
fostering a deep sense of loyalty to his mother, his brother, Frank Spell, and his future family.
Family, especially his children, was always a top priority for Jesse, and he dedicated himself to
them above all else.
Growing up in North County, MO, Jesse enjoyed the outdoors, spending his time hunting,
fishing, and excelling in sports as a talented football player and wrestler. He earned a football
scholarship to Missouri Southern, where he further honed his athletic skills.
Jesse was a free spirit who loved adventure, from riding motorcycles and driving off-road jeeps
to traveling the world. His entrepreneurial drive and generous heart led him to become a
self-taught glass artist. He was not one to conform to the status quo, always questioning and
seeking to improve himself and his surroundings. In his 20s, he embraced the ideal to live his
retirement first, traveling across the United States, Canada, Hawaii, Mexico, England, Scotland,
Belgium, Amsterdam, and Cancun.
One of Jesse's greatest passions was coaching young athletes, guiding them to achieve their
full potential. Having lost his own father at a young age, he understood the impact a mentor
could have, and he worked tirelessly to instill in his athletes a spirit of determination and
resilience.
At the time of his death, Jesse was focused on setting goals and researching opportunities to
ease the lives of his loved ones, a testament to his selflessness and drive to care for those
around him.
Jesse is survived by his wife, Kimberly Spell, and children: Nina Weger, Airin Spell, and Logan
Spell. He is also survived by his brother, Frank Spell, and his sister-in-law, Ming Spell, along
with mother-in-law Diane Berman, several nephews, nieces, and extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Phyllis Davis; his father, Ray Spell; his son, Caleb
Spell; and both sets of grandparents.
Jesse will be remembered for his boundless love for his family, his adventurous and rebellious
spirit, and his unwavering commitment to helping others. His legacy of kindness, mentorship,
and love will continue to inspire all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers the family requests a donation in Jesse's name:
