Howard Howell Yearwood, 77, died July 30th, 2025. He was born in Santa Ana, California on December 7th, 1947. Son of Thelma and Seth Yearwood, loving father to Chris Yearwood, Howard passed away in his home of Nashville, TN after battling colon cancer. He is survived by his son Chris Yearwood and his ex-wife Carol Yearwood both living in Los Angeles.
Howard worked as a musician both in the studio and on stage for more than fifty years. He shared that passion as a guitar teacher and in doing so, touched the lives of his students in a positive way. In addition to playing music he produced many records throughout his career including his own album "Whistlestop." His passion for music and guitars was well-known by all who met him, saw him play live, listened to his recordings, or looked at photos of him playing music. There's rarely a photo of him without a guitar in hand and a smile on his face.
Howard was a champion for dogs. He loved dogs with all of his heart and soul. Later in his life he was focused on spreading the word online about lost dogs or dogs who needed to be fostered or adopted. His love for all dogs was unconditional and pure, reflecting the true nature of his character and soul.
He also loved making guitars, watching Westerns, and playing with his dog Roxie. He will be greatly missed by his friends, family, and fellow musicians alike.
