Ann 'Gayle' Martin Fitzgerald age 84, passed away peacefully in hospice care, December 15, 2024

She was born May 16, 1940 in Columbia, Tennessee to the late Perry Martin and Mary Jane Jett.

Mrs. Fitzgerald was a member at Theta Baptist Church, where she loved volunteering, especially the days of making and serving breakfast before the morning service. Gayle loved people! She always wore a beautiful smile. Those fortunate enough to know Gayle recognized her love and care as genuine. An important part of Gayle's life was the many selfless hours she gave to so many residents in local nursing home facilities bringing smiles, laughter and warm embrace. She truly was a compassionate soul.

Gayle enjoyed family. She was the youngest of 10 children. She had two children. Son Rex Tracy ( LeAnn ) and daughter Chanin Cunningham ( Eric ), 6 granddaughters, 3 grandsons and a great grandson.

Gayle loved spending time with her grandchildren. They were a huge part of her world. She loved fishing, farming, long drives in the country, and sitting on the porch (or) at the kitchen table with a cup of coffee, while talking with her loved ones.

Gayle was preceded in death by her father Perry Martin, mother Mary Jane Jett, and nine other siblings. Surviving her are her 2 loving children, daughter, and son-in-law, and grandchildren. Gayle leaves behind a legacy of love and smiles.

In the final months of Gayle's life she spoke often and honestly about her readiness to meet her Lord and Savior. She was absolutely ready and prepared to rest in God's hands. That alone should give us all the comfort we need.
