David Wendell Anderson 89, of Hendersonville Tennessee, passed away peacefully at Skyline Medical Center Sunday, April 5, 2026.  He was born in Jackson County Tennessee, son of the late Vance Lee and Ruby Clara Johnson Anderson.  He graduated from Tennessee Tech University, received a Masters' Degree from Tennessee State University and retired from Metro Nashville Public Schools.  Mr. Anderson was a member of Madison Church of Christ.

Mr. Anderson was preceded in death by both parents, wife of fifteen years, Linda Forehand Anderson and eight siblings: Madge Lee Chaffin, Marie Johnson Clark, Thurmond Bryan Anderson, Ruby Nell Smith, Leo Douglas Anderson, Paul Richmond Anderson, Helen Virginia Stanford and Nancy Carolyn Anderson.

He is survived by his daughters: Tammy Anderson Starling (the late Milton E. Starling) and Cindy Anderson Cordts (Michael),  grandchildren: Anderson Milton Starling (Melissa), Meagan Sloane Rhoden and Clara Margaret Capps (Ross) and great-grandchildren: Clark Draper Starling, William Anderson Starling, Charles Walker Capps, and Brody Milton Capps.  He is also survived by family members of Linda Forehand Anderson: Jeff Forehand, (Karen),  Gant Forehand, Brooks Forehand, Leigh Mundy, Reeves Parrish and Graham Parrish.  He was previously married to the current Peggie Stout Ragland.  He was also loved and will be remembered by numerous neices, nephews and other extended family and friends.

His life will be celebrated at a graveside service at Richmond Cemetery in Gainesboro, Tennessee.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Madison Church of Christ Missions Ministry, P.O. Box 419 Madison, TN 37116.
