Charlotte Alley Shores, 67, passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at Alive Hospice of Murfreesboro following a prolonged illness.
Born June 6, 1958, in Bristol, TN, she was the daughter of the late C.W. "Ham" Alley and Frances Ingram Alley.
She is survived by her husband of 21 years, Ronald Preston Shores of Mt. Juliet, TN, her son, David Edgar Porter Jr. also of Mt. Juliet, TN, brother, Lewis Ingram Alley (Amy Adkins) of Hermitage, TN, nieces, Ashley Alley Edge (Nicholas) of Owensboro, KY, Courtney Alley Baer (James), Elizabeth Alley Ethridge (Corey), both of Mt. Juliet, TN, Alia Boyd Pike (Eric Stephens) of Lebanon, TN and nephew, Joel Ingram Boyd (Jennifer) of Gallatin, TN, in addition to eleven grand nieces and nephews.
A graduate of DuPont High School in Old Hickory – Hermitage, TN, Charlotte was a friend of Hermitage Presbyterian Church. Recently retired, Charlotte was a long-time employee at Vanderbilt-Wilson County Hospital in Dietary Services. When not working at the hospital, she and her husband, Ronnie, enjoyed the changing seasons so they could meet customers who frequented their floral and produce markets in Donelson and Mt. Juliet. Her most rewarding job though was that of a loyal "caregiver" to her parents and family members.
While she enjoyed various domestic activities such as crafting and gardening, Charlotte's biggest passion in life was her love for all animals, music, and retreats with family and friends to the Great Smoky Mountains.
Later this year, a graveside service will be held at the Sharpsburg Baptist Church Cemetery in Sharpsburg, GA in addition to a memorial service in her beloved Townsend, TN.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Charlotte's name may be given to Alive Hospice of Murfreesboro,
