Obituary

Ava Gray was born March 7, 2011, moments before her twin sister, Havyn. She passed peacefully at home, early Thanksgiving morning on November 28, 2024.

Ava Gray lived a lot of life in her short 13 years. She loved being warm and playing music on her musical toys and guitar. She loved borrowing people's glasses and phones, and exploring things like power tools, car dashboards, horns, and people's faces (by poking them). Her unique spark gathered up a beautiful community of people who delighted in her and everyone who was involved in her care was touched by her sweetness and spunk.

Her loved ones are grateful for her entire medical team (especially her beloved nurses - from the NICU, home-health care, and hospice departments) who cared for and loved her well.

Ava Gray is survived by her parents: Julie Whitacre, Kristina Pettigrew, and Jonathan Blanco; her sister, Havyn; her grandparents: Marie and Rafael, Kathy and Carl Linn, and Steve and Donna Whitacre; her local family (and favorite babysitters), Laura Damon and Anna Romero; along with a great gaggle of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Ava Gray's life was rich in love. To everyone who knew her, she was a gift. Her bright and feisty light will be missed.
